On Tuesday, October 18th, we ventured down to Main Street for a field trip.
waiting for the city bus to take us to the Park City Museum
The apron exhibit was amazing!

The kids loved trying on the aprons.
It's amazing how far down the miners worked!

It would take us 4 hours to get down to Salt Lake City...
That afternoon, we also had a Utah Opera assembly.
We started our 2nd Unit: Cinderella. Throughout this unit, we will be reading about 7 different versions of Cinderella. We will compare and contrast the different versions, find the lesson from each story, along with other comprehension and vocabulary activities.
We really started working a lot on finding evidence to support our opinions and reasons.
We will be completing this chart with each of the stories we read.
There are new vocabulary words hanging around the room. There are some tough words in Cinderella. To determine the meaning of these words, we used context clues (hints that appear around the vocabulary word).
We practice some of the vocabulary words when table groups line up at the door.
We completed a flap book of important objects from Cinderella. Under each flap we wrote a sentence about why that object was important in the story.
Please take a look at the students' most recent work. We wrote an opinion paragraph about a lesson we learned from Cinderella and had to give evidence from the story to support our opinion. To go along with our writing, we did a directed drawing of Cinderella. I am very proud of them!
crazy hair day
The pumpkin character contest has ended but the pumpkins are still on display.
Please make sure your child turns in his/her reading minutes on Monday so his/her hiker can move up the mountain.
