Meeting Our Reading Buddies!

What an exciting day! We met our reading buddies for the first time last Friday. We are going to be buddies with Mr. Tullis' 4th graders this year. For this first meeting, the kids interviewed each other.

Fire Safety Week

Last week was fire safety week, so some firefighters came to our school for a visit. They talked with all 2nd graders for a bit and then everybody got an up-close view of a fire truck.





We had our first "spotlight" presentation last week! The students also asked some great questions. This will be a wonderful way to learn about each other.

We Rock!

Our school adopted a "You Rock" theme. When students are caught showing good behavior, they get a white "You Rock" ticket. When an entire class shows good behavior, they get a golden "You Rock" ticket. At the end of the month we tally up which classes received the most golden tickets. For grades K-2 our class won! We got 17 golden "You Rock" tickets last month. That's awesome! Nice job, Mrs. Tullis' class. Keep up the great work! I'm proud of you.


Don't forget: It's Fire Safety Week. Please review your exit plan at your home, in case of a fire. We will be talking about fire safety this week in class, also. The fire department will make a visit to our school on Thursday, October 9th.

Picture re-takes will take place next Monday, October 13th. Please return the form (sent home today) if you would like your child to have re-takes.

No school October 16th-17th...Fall Recess

****As a side note...I will be out of the classroom this Wednesday and Thursday for DIBELS training. The class will have a substitute and plans will go on as usual.
