We can talk more about homework folders at the Back to School night but, for now, I wanted to share some information with you.
Students will have homework starting this Monday, August 30th. Homework folders go home on Mondays and should be returned the following Monday. Your child's homework folder will consist of the following:
reading log: Your child should read, at least, 20 minutes per night. Please make sure to record the date, book title, number of minutes read and your initials.
math: In the Everyday Math program, homework does not begin until lesson 11 so, until then, I will be sending home review, supplemental materials. On the bottom of the cover sheet, it will tell you which day to complete which math paper.
spelling list: We will practice our spelling words during class but a list will be sent home in case you would like to practice at home, as well. If you need additional ideas for practicing your child's spelling words, I will have a list at the Back to School night.
